Wake up to a healthy breakfast daily 

Nowadays, every health-conscious person is aware of the importance of having breakfast. But if you’re short on time every morning or bored of having milk with cereal and looking for some more alternatives which are quick to cook and nutritious. A healthy breakfast revolves around the idea of whole foods as they help you provide energy and nutrients to keep you active. What you choose to eat for the first meal of the day, can have an impact throughout the day.

1) Chickpea pancake 

A switch to savoury pancakes from banana pancakes will pamper your taste buds. Chickpeas are protein-packed, the addition of chopped broccoli, mushrooms, seeds to the batter add to the protein content. It is also a good vegan option and can be had along with peanut chutney or avocado spread.

2) Spinach feta filled wraps

The wrap can be made of any whole flour of your choice. Fill the wrap with eggs, spinach, feta cheese and finely chopped seasonal veggies of your choice. It is great on the go morning option for your breakfast.

3) Oats idlis 

Tired of having oatmeal? How about wholesome idlis which are made of oats and semolina. You can add crushed peanuts and cashew nuts to the batter to make it wholesome and have it with coconut chutney and skip the sambhar as well. It goes well along with a glass of buttermilk, which will give you your morning dose of probiotics

4) Cold coffee lovers 

Along with a glass of your favourite cold coffee, you can have a toast with some peanut butter or give a twist to your regular coffee by adding chopped nuts to it and a banana to make it wholesome.

5) Corny – sprouts 

Sprouted moong dal sprouts if pressure cooked for a couple of minutes after adding a tsp tadka of oil along with condiments, gives it a pleasing flavour. Also, having raw sprouts can cause gastric issues in some. Add your favourite corn along with some raw veggies like cucumbers, tomatoes, spring onions and squeeze lemon on top, to make it more relishing.

If you choose to gorge on just carbohydrates like aloo paratha greased with a lot of oil, it will make you feel sluggish. It is important to keep a proportionate balance, mainly between complex carbohydrates and protein.

The bottom line is, if you start your day off right by fuelling your body with the right choice of food, it will keep you energised and will have a positive impact on your performance.
