WAYS TO REDUCE RISK OF CONTRACTING COVID-19 WHILE COMMUTING

As people have started commuting to their workplace, it becomes important to take safety measures and precautions. Here are some ways that will help you to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 while commuting to work :

  • Sanitise your hands: Make sure to sanitise your hands once you reach office as this will help in killing the virus. Avoid touching anything in a public place as it can be contaminated. Also, don’t forget to wash your hands before meals.
  • Eat safely packed foods: Avoid eating street food, and take your water bottle and lunch box to work. Homemade food is the most reliable and safest food you can eat. Restaurant and street food isn’t safe to consume and can increase the risk of contracting the coronavirus.
  • Maintain proper distance: While travelling to work try to maintain a proper distance. Avoid taking public transportation if it is too crowded, as the spread of the virus is very rapid in a crowd. Stay away from people who are sneezing or coughing as they can be carriers for the virus.
  • Avoid touching surfaces: Surfaces might be contaminated with the virus, so avoid touching any kind of surface while commuting. Also, disinfect the surface around your seat. Please note that sanitising any kind of surface should not be done with bare hands.
  • Drink only filtered water: Make sure to carry a water bottle when you leave home and do not drink unpurified water as there have been cases where people got infected due to contaminated water.
  • Boost your immunity: Introduce immunity-boosting foods and supplements to your diet to keep yourself away from any kind of viruses or infections.
  • Spread awareness: If you see anyone without a mask, make them aware of it. Stand at a safe distance from people and travel with precaution and safety. Be a responsible citizen and point out people who are not following the rules and make them aware of the negative health consequences of the same.
